Arduino uno driver not installing windows 8




















Right click on the yellow Arduino Uno and choose update driver software. Click "Browse my computer for driver software" Then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" Click modem and then next.

In the list, under manufactuer, choose Compaq. Under modem, set the maximum speed to Done I was able to figure this out by looking at the existing Arduino Uno drivers and noted that they do not install a driver but provide device id's that use the usbser.

Because it is a modem driver, Windows will treat it exactly like a COM port unless you try to use dialup software. You most likely will not be dialing up with an Arduino. Select the drivers folder an click OK , then click Next. You will receive a notification that the board has not passed Windows Logo testing. Click on the button Continue Anyway. I submitted an issue and hope that the developers will resolve it soon. Until then, I will try to disable driver signature enforcement for this installation Update Disabling the signature enforcement worked for me.

I attached the Arduino, opened the device manager, chose "Update device driver" and pointed it to the "driver" subdirectory of my Arduino IDE.
